The Center for the Study of New Media & Society held a presentation at the New Economic School on August 16-th with Dr. Ingmar Weber, research scientist at Yahoo! Research in Barcelona. A specialist in web mining, social networks and machine learning – as well as a triathlete and professional Couchsurfer – Dr. Weber has developed Political Search Trends, an innovative tool to measure the political affiliation of news in the US. In Moscow, he spoke on “Web Science: Observing the Online World to Study the Offline World.”
